Fashion Week Fall 2012 Favourites

Confident collection of Jason Wu, inspired by China.

Dolce & Gabbana go back to their roots, florals and prints are all over the place. Inspired by Italy.

Valentino is a synonym for elegance, but the house goes edgy by adding folkloristic details. I love it!

Irresistible beauty at Alexander McQueen. Sarah Burton did a great job, from soft and feminine to huge and booming. Delicious to look at, isn't it?

Dutch designers Viktor & Rolf brought the pyjamas to the jungle. It was feminine yet tough. And again Dutch beauties Bette Franke and Elza Luijendijk outshined everyone. From Prada (Elza) to Chanel (Bette); they walked every single runway!

Dreaming is what I did when I was just a kid

Dreaming is what I did when I was young
Quietly murmuring the lines of a song
And though it seems like ages ago
The song is one thing I will always know
I can still recall every single line
A vivid mind, despite of all the wine

The song was about how one’s life would be
Ten years from then, as far as one could see
It told me about roses, romance and rain
About hotel rooms, soul food and champagne
It made me dream about this particular guy
O yes, that song shot me straight to the sky

Even when there was no music playing
I could hear exactly what the singer was saying
And every time something was said to me
I didn’t answer, I felt so utterly free

Maybe I was strange, maybe I was weird
But I remember that there was nothing I feared
Just things I longed for, to happen in the future
Now I’ve almost reached the age where I’ll be mature

So it has become time to go back to that song
I guess that’s the place where I belong
Dreaming is what I did when I was a kid
And it was the most sincere thing I ever did

By me.

''I'm always thinking about creating. My future starts when I wake up every morning... Every day I find something creative to do with my life''.

This quote belongs to the legendary Miles Davis, but I can relate to it a lot.
When somehow I have a bit of free time (doesn't happen that often unfortunately) I like to work on my scrapbook. One of the few things that works really relaxing for me. Here's a look in my scrapbook. Mostly about fashion but some other inspiring things as well ;)

Carnival

Dressed like Amy Winehouse this year, I had a marvellous time.

Taste of Runway

A few weeks ago I discovered the fabulous site Taste of Runway, where the owner posts runway photos combined with a recipe that looks exactly like it. In this way, she combines her two biggest passions: food and fashion. I think it's a wonderful concept, it gives a much more light feeling, like something fun (what it also is, but some people tend too take it all very seriously, a bit too seriously if you ask me!) and breezy. And the food is very desirable as well of course. Though not everything.. I would say no to the tofu steak with spinach and rice (Fendi). But the cheese cake seems delicious. I'd say, take a look at the site and try something yourself! Which one would you choose for?

Oscar de la Renta SS 2012, pizza margeritha.

Mary Katrantzou SS 2012, macarons.

Fendi FW 2011/2012, Tofu steak with pepper tartare, buttered spinach and curry rice.

Louis Vuitton SS 2012, Fried lotus flowers

Burberry prorsum SS 2012, layered soft sponge cake with milk chocolate and coffee cream.

Missoni FW 2011/2012, coloured pasta

Paco Rabanne SS 2012, marinated sardines.

Prada SS 2012, cheese cake
