The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus

Monday I went to the movie 'The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus'. It's one of the most strange movies I've ever seen. It's so surreal. And full of fantasy, which I love. As a kid I was (and honestly, I still am) crazy about 'Lord of the Rings', 'Harry Potter' and 'Alice in Wonderland'.

This movie is about Dr. Parnassus who is an immortal old man who can take people into their own imaginary world. He travels with his daughter (famous supermodel Lily Cole), a young guy and a midget through London. Great views of the Thames, by the way! Anyway, Dr. Parnassus has bet a lot with the Devil during his life. One day he had made a bet with the Devil, he should become immortal. What would the Devil get? If Dr. Parnassus would ever get a daughter (which he didn't have at that time) she would be the Devil's when she'd become sixteen.

As you can guess, his daughter was almost sixteen, so Dr. Parnassus wanted to undo the bet. The Devil and he made another bet. The one who would win five souls first, would get the daughter. His daughter didn't know anything about it of course. One day they were travelling through London with their show and suddenly they saw a young man hanging under the Tower Bridge. They rescued him and he stayed with them. Although he didn't know who he was. In real life it was Heath Ledger. It was his last film, he didn't even finish it before he died. It's so weird to watch a movie knowing the actor is dead. His part was taken over by Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrel. So you didn't hear me complaining!

Especially Johnny Depp was perfect for the part, he has this weird way of playing and that suited the role and that resembled Heath Ledger's way of playing. I really love them both! They're handsome and very very good.

Lily Cole was amazing as well, she had a great part. I absolutely liked the film. If you wanna know the end you should definitely see it. I recommend it to you and not only because of all the man candy in it ;)
