An Ode to Sex and the City
I've finished the entire show. And yes, I had to cry. For the first time in my life (I don't cry because of movies or shows, except for the last episode of Friends, but you know, that's Friends), so it may be the second. Anyway, I really really adored the show. Carrie Bradshaw is amazing, so are here friends. And I'm so happy she ended up with Big! Those two are just meant to be. I loved Aidan as well, but they just missed the sparkle as she does have with Big.
And the face of Charlotte when she saw her little China girl is just one-in-a-million. Smith and Samantha are gorgeous together, Smith really is a perfect guy. Only Miranda's ending wasn't very impressing but she never was in the show.
It's weird that I've seen the episodes all now. Of course I'll watch them again and again but the first time is always the best.
I'd die to have a life as Carrie, living in New York, write a column for a magazine and go shopping, hanging out with my friends and find the perfect true love. It may sound like a fairy tale but I think it is possible: “Later that day I got to thinking about relationships. There are those that open you up to something new and exotic, those that are old and familiar, those that bring up lots of questions, those that bring you somewhere unexpected, those that bring you far from where you started, and those that bring you back. But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you can find someone to love the you you love, well, that's just fabulous.”

Antwerp
Tuesday the day had arrived. The day we were waiting for ever since we came back from London. The train left for Antwerp, the only city nearby our country where Urban Outfitters was located! Since we've left our heart in London, exact on Oxford Street, in the heavenly store Urban Outfitters, we decided to pick our hearts at the Meir in Antwerp, but not before some very good shopping at our favourite store.
Avalon and I left early in the morning, at 7.50. We wanted to buy a ticket at the Information Desk, but the woman behind the desk said we had to pay 3,50 euros in addition. Dutch as I am, I said I wasn't going to do that, so she said we could buy our tickets at the ticket machine, but we had to be careful we didn't buy a super retour, cause that would only count after 9 o'clock and it wasn't even 8 o'clock.
It was all a bit vague but we bought a youth ticket, which was only 25 euros in stead of 40. I wasn't comfortable with that. Of course it's wonderful to pay 15 less as you expected, but I thought there had to be something wrong with it. We got in the train anyway, and then I checked the ticket and saw this youth ticket was also only allowed after 9 o'clock. Dumb, dumb, dumb. I was afraid some conductor would show up to check the tickets but fortunately no one did. And we arrived savely at the station of Antwerp (:
We immediately went to Urban Outfitters, and almost ran to it when we saw it. Of course before we saw it we were a bit lost, but that's not important.
I have to say it was a bit disappointing. The Urban Outfitters in London was far more impressing. But maybe that was because our hopes were too high this time. I did saw some beautiful clothes, but they were very expensive. I'm not gonna pay 250 euros for a coat. I really loved the style of the store though. Records, cd's, books, gadgets, vintage clothes, you can buy almost anything. I bought a T-shirt and a cross necklace. Avalon bought a lot more, as she always does ;) I was also a bit dissapointed for the fact that they didn't have any rings and the bags were too small for the size of a book, so that wasn't perfect as well.
We saw all the other important stores, such as Zara and Mango. Normally I don't go to WE but this time I wanted to see if they had any nice coats and they had! I bought a creme coloured trenchcoat with big buttons. Very Audrey Hepburn-a-like.
At the end of the day we were very tired but satisfied. I don't know for how long we have to wait till the next time we're gonna see Urban Outfitters, but my dad had revealed we might go to London next year again - so I see you again in spring, Urban Outfitters.

Jim Morrison
It's like gambling somehow. You go out for a night of drinking and you don't know where your going to end up the next day. It could work out good or it could be disastrous. It's like the throw of the dice.
VACATION
Finally! I've finished my tests and now all I'm going to do is blogging, watch Sex & the City and listen to music. No kiddin', there's more actually.
Tonight I'm going out (: Tomorrow I'm going to buy lotss and lotsss of records. Monday I'm going to dye my hair. Hallelujah, I'm so frightened, you should definitely check this out. The second story already. I'm sure something like that will happen to me... But I'm going to do it anyway, cause my hair is so boring right now. Tuesday I'm going to Antwerp and I'm gonna buy so much! Of course I'll post my new clothes/jewellery, etc (and my hair color). And I'm gonna have a relaxing day with a facial and massage, together with my mom. Of course there's also work, but I don't mind, cause I want to make money (:

Red Headed Stranger
I want new hair!
Firstly, I want to have a new haircut, a full pony I guess.
And secondly, I want to dye my hair.
But I'm so afraid, a friend sent me an article including photo of a girl who dyed her hair with a color washing and her head just swoll up as if she was an alien! It was horrible..
So I'm sure such a thing will happen to me as well. I know, I always tend to look not at the bright side of life (:
Anyway, I want my hair to be copper. So darkbrown/caramel with a tiny bit of red in it. So exciting!

The King of Soul †
This mornings my dad told me about the dead of Solomon Burke. No way! God, what a huge lost for the music world. He passed away at Schiphol.
He was supposed to perform in the Netherlands with the Dutch band 'De Dijk' in Paradiso on October 12. I was actually considering going to the concert, cause Solomon Burke was a gigantic talent (literally and figurative, but it turned out the concert was sold out in no time. I feel really sorry for the people who were going..
By many critics Solomon Burke was called 'The King of Soul'. You may think that title belongs to James Brown, but he is 'The Godfather of Soul'. Don't ask me about the difference, cause I've got no idea. But fact is that Solomon Burke had some amazing songs, like 'Flesh and Blood', 'Soul Searchin', 'Cry to Me' and 'Everybody needs somebody to love'.
Solomon Burke was 70. His roots were in gospel. He sang in a church in Philadelphia, his hometown. Later on, when he signed at Atlantic Records, he started mixing R&B with gospel and that became the basis of soul music. He made many covers (like 'Proud Mary') but other bands also covered his songs (like The Stones, Wilson Pickett and many more).
In 2002 he had a comeback. He made a new album 'Don't give up on me' and wrote songs with artists as Bob Dylan, Van Morisson and Tom Waits.
Solomon Burke was the head of a enormous family. He had 21 children, 90 grandchildren and 20 grand grandchildren. I mean, wow!
The cause of his dead is unknown, but as we all know, Solomon Burke was a gigantic man. I used to joke he would carry all his 21 children in his stomach, but alright, this is not the right moment to say something like that ;) It was also the reason he gave his performances sitting.
May you rest in peace, Solomon Burke. A soul legend has gone and will never come back. But his songs will live on forever and we won't give up on him.

Definitely Paris Mornings New York Nights for me
Today I got the news the New York trip next may is on (:
We're staying 7 dayssss.
And not even that expensive, max. 775 euro.
The best things: we're going to Paris the last week for the vacation starts, for about 3 days. And we'll probably be back on Friday from Paris and leaving on Saturday to New York.
What a brilliant name I called my blog, right?
