I'm not going..
Today I called the woman from Benelux' Next Topmodel.
I explained the situation to her.
And she adviced me to wait another year. I'm only fifteen and I have to be available full-time a whole month. So that wasn't going to happen.
She thought it was sad, because she really loved my pictures.
Which I think is a good thing, hihi.
She also said I could inscribe myself to a modeling agency, like Elite, so maybe I will.
They're very strict there, I guess... So that's going to be exciting.
But he, that's life, right?
You aren't going to make it, unless you take risks and you take challenges.
AND I'M GOING TO!

Benelux' Next Topmodel
O My God, I've been invited for Benelux' Next Topmodel!!
I'd almost forgotten it, but a month ago I've sent some photos to Benelux' Next Topmodel.
And today, while I was busy organizing the sport day of the first class' children at my school, this woman called me.
She said: 'Hi Bente, this is Heleen from Benelux' Next Topmodel. I've received your inscription and I'd like to invite you to our screening in Aalsmeer. Can you call me back?' It was my voicemail, in case you wondered ;)
OOOOOOOOOOOOOMG, all my friends went crazy!
But there's one Huge Big Giant problem,
I've got to be available from Juni 7 to July 7.
And I still need to go to school.
So school probably doesn't approve it.
And my parents think I'm just a year too young (I'm almost sixteen)
So man, that sucks!
But I can see it as an amazing compliment, I mean, those people really know what they're talking about.
Not sure what to do, but I'll keep you informed!

Bob Dylan
Google is doing themes lately, a year ago you only had 'em at Queens Day, Christmas or Easter, but nowadays you can choose your own theme.
My Google has apparently chosen for Bob Dylan. I can change it if I feel like it, but I like it, actually.
Bob Dylan really is a sort of a God. Man, he's good. I'm reading his diaries (his first years in spotlights) and he's so curious. Does whatever he wants, ain't nobody'll tell him what to do.
And that's what makes him such a great artist.
I love his music. Especially 'Hurricane', 'I want you' and 'Like a Rolling Stone'
Shouldn't listen to it too long, cause it gets kind of depressing, but the lyrics are amazing!
Almost poetic.
Yes, he may be a 'crazy, old, country goofie' but if this genius comes to the Netherlands, I'll be there! But before that let's listen to an ingenious song, 'Subterrenean Homesick Blues':

The Week of the Magazine
From April 26 till May 9 it's the Week of the Magazine!
Which give me a reason to show you my favourite covers of my favourite magazine ELLE. It are all Dutch covers.
I wanted to give you a view of my favourite covers of all magazines, but that wasn't possible cause I couldn't find that much. The ones I was looking for weren't available on the internet. And I thought everything was possible with internet! Well, it turns out to be wrong.

I've had a new experience
Yesterday, I went to the concert of Within Temptation with two friends.
One is totally into the group and he had an extra ticket, so I decided to join him! ;)
I didn't really expect a lot of it, because I can asure you, it's definitely not my kind of music.
I like lots of styles, soul, R&B, pop, gospel, hiphop, jazz, rock, indie, etc, but gothic and dark rock is not my style.
But I'm always in for something new and besides, it was an acoustic tour, which would make it a lot lighter, so yes, I went.
When we arrived in the Theatre, there were all different sorts of people. A lot of gothic people, of course, but also old couples (who I would expect more with a classical concert or something like that), but all ages and well not all styles, I mean, we didn't totally belong among the dark dressed people, but not all gothics.
I actually enjoyed it. Sharon (the lead singer) sings amazing, so powerful. I liked the acoustic songs best, sometimes they went very dark and that didn't attract me at all! People were all waving with their hands, and I didn't feel the urge to do it too, because it would be very fake to me, not my style hihi. But I'm glad I went, have had a new experience and Sharon can sing amazingly. But no dark clothes and dark thoughts, for me. I'll stay with the lazy, crazy summer days of Joss Stone, Alicia Keys and Michael Jackson :)

Sonia Rykiel
Last week I saw the documentary: The day before Rykiel on television.
It was about 20 novembre (or the day before, which would be 19 novembre) 2008, when Sonia Rykiel celebrated the 40th year anniversary of her fashion brand and her daughter Natalie Rykiel (who's also very important for fashion) had also become 40.
A big day, so lots of stress and worryings! It was awesome to see how those things go behind the scenes, backstage.
It's not as easy as it may look like, it's hard working in fashion!
But the resultat was phenomenal, it was definitely a big party!
Sonia Rykiel is over 80 years old, and she may look a bit scary, but in the documentary she seemed like an amazing woman. Nice, hard working, caring and humorous. Her collection for H&M (with all the stripes, pulls and yellow and white) didn't really attract me. A bit too sweet, I guess. What I really like about Rykiel is the image, the big red hair and the knitting.
Though she said in the documentary she is really bad at knitting!
The models backstage, big wavy hair, big sunglasses and berets.
Amazing atmosphere!

No More Drama.
Hooh it feels so good
When you let go
Of all the drama in your life
Now you're free from all the pain (free from all the pain)
Free from all the games (free from all the games)
Free from all the stress (free from all the stress)
So find your happiness
I don’t know
Only god knows where the story ends for me
But I know where the story begins
It’s up to us to choose
Whether we win or lose
And I choose to win
Ohhhh...
No more pain (no more pain, no more pain, tired of crying)
No more game (tired of your planning games with my mind)
No drama (no more drama in my life)
No more in my life
When you let go
Of all the drama in your life
Now you're free from all the pain (free from all the pain)

New names @ North Sea Jazz 2010
Today I heard some new artists who are playing at North Sea!
It was a total surprise for me, because I thought April 28 was the date the next and last names would be announced.
But no, they're still contracting, and I'm soooo happy 'bout it!
'Cause I'm going to see:
Macy Gray, Herbie Hancock, Katie Melua, Jamie Lidell and many, many more! =D

Through it all.
For one of my best friends:
In the morning when you wake
Might not wanna face today and all your heartache
Thinking how much can you take
Please don't ever loose the faith and don't fall under
In a world that seems to get colder and colder
Don't you worry cuz
My love will only get stronger and stronger
Cuz I, I, I, I, I'm gonna love you gonna hold ya through it all
I, I, I, I'm gonna love you gonna never let you fall
Through it all
Through it all
Don't think about the past, don't worry bout the future
Just live in the moment
Long as there's another day there will be another way
A chance to make it through
In a world that seems to get colder & colder
Don't you worry cuz
My love will only get stronger & stronger
Cuz I, I, I, I, I'm gonna love you gonna hold ya through it all
I, I, I, I'm gonna love you gonna never let you fall
Through it all
When you're down and out
Losing dignity
Don't let go of me (hold on)
Surely this is a brighter day right in front of me (hold on)
If you really looked inside
You would finally realize
You don't have to cry (no more)
All you have to do is see
That you can believe in me
And I will never leave
Cuz I, I, I, I, I'm gonna love you gonna hold ya through it all

Alexander Wang, Mister Beauty
I was just checking out the latest news on www.elle.nl, when I spotted a post of Alexander Wang's rough eyebrows look. I had already seen it in some magazines before, but woah, do I love this look.
The eyebrows may not be very logical in real life (can imagine being stared at a lot on the streets, school or whatever when you come up with these hairy earbrows), but I think it looks awesome on the catwalk. It's still decent and it looks a bit raw and naughty.
What I also love about the look is the side braid, I think that's the best beauty trend of 2010. Long, curly brown hair, in combination with the nude look. Another look I absolutely adore! La la love it! Definitely a look in which you can draw me out a lot this summer, white or creme clothes, nude make-up and a long side braid. But I can not promise to do the raw eyebrow thing, that's a bit too much for me! But it looks amazing at the models, the last model you see is the Dutch talent Nimue Smit, by the way.

Doutzen Kroes for Tiffany & Co
'Neerlands Trots' Doutzen Kroes is the new face of the American jewellery firm, Tiffany & Co, also known as Tiffany's.
She's working it!Doutzen is this very different type as, for example, Audrey Hepburn, who played the lead part in 'Breakfast at Tiffany's'. Doutzen is blonde, type 'girl-next-door' (though your neighbour probably isn't as famous and gorgeous as topmodel Doutzen) and she has curves. Not that much, but definitely more as Audrey ;)
I think her photo looks wonderful! Very pretty.

Diamonds are a girl's best friend
Yesterday I went to Matzer Marilyn Monroe, a play about the life of the legendary Miss. Monroe. Three women played in it. One really was Marilyn Monroe, and the other two were her conscience.
It was a bit vague and confusing, actually. It began with her marriage with one man, and then she was dead, and then it was 1960 again and then she talked about her childhood. The show was mostly filled with monologues about insecurity and the meaning of life. It was interesting, but it wasn't spectacular.
The lead actrice was very good, she played very enjoyable. There were two men, they played the parts of all the men in Marilyn's life, among others John F. Kenndy ('Happy Birthday, Mr. President'). One guy could sing very well.
I don't regret it that I bought tickets for the show, because I know a lot more about Marilyn's life, who she really was. She wasn't just a sex-symbol, she was a real woman, someone who had her issues and insecurities and doubts. She really was a fascinating person. Though this show wasn't the best, I'm dying to see a view of her movies, like 'Some like it hot' or 'Something's Got to Give'. Marilyn Monroe, or Norma Dean as her real name is, was a legend.
